LS-VINA, a subsidiary of LS Eco Energy, will supply $33 million in ultra-high voltage cables for a new grid construction project led by Vietnam Electricity (EVN). As a result, the project strengthens Hanoi’s power network and helps meet fast-growing electricity demand in the capital and nearby districts.
The EVN grid project targets both central Hanoi and suburban areas with a new 220 kV national transmission network. Moreover, it supports Vietnam’s strategy to secure reliable power for cities, industry, and infrastructure. EVN plans to raise installed generation capacity from 69 GW to more than 150 GW by 2030 and build over 16,000 km of new 220 kV lines nationwide.
LS Eco Energy’s Haiphong facility can produce up to 100,000 tons of cable material each year, making it the largest cable plant in Vietnam. Consequently, that capacity covers a large share of the country’s estimated 200,000-ton annual cable demand, with LS‑VINA supplying nearly half of the total volume.
LS‑VINA holds about an 80% market share in Vietnam’s 220 kV cable segment. In addition, it is the only manufacturer in the country capable of producing cables at this voltage level. Therefore, LS‑VINA plays a key role in Vietnam’s grid expansion and long-term energy development plans.
