Investing in American Manufacturing and Growth
Service Wire Company has broken ground on a new facility at its Culloden, West Virginia campus. The project will significantly expand the company’s manufacturing capacity, enabling it to meet rising demand and continue delivering high-quality copper wire and cable to customers across the United States and beyond.
Company President Louis Weisberg said the project reflects the “dedication and Appalachian grit” of Service Wire’s workforce. He emphasized the company’s long-standing commitment to U.S. manufacturing, adding, “We’re investing in the future and strengthening our American roots.”
Service Wire Company Expansion Supports Long-Term Vision
Founded in 1968 in West Virginia, Service Wire Company has grown from a regional operation into a national leader in wire and cable manufacturing. The company supplies products for industrial, commercial, utility, renewable energy, irrigation, and transit markets.
Moreover, the company operates three major facilities in the United States—its Culloden headquarters, a Houston, Texas facility established in 1980 (later upgraded), and a Phoenix, Arizona location acquired in 1999, which doubled distribution capacity for the Southwest.
According to Mark Gatewood, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Service Wire’s commitment to customers remains at the core of its success.
“Our company continues to grow rapidly,” Gatewood said. “This expansion will allow us to keep supporting our customers with top-quality products and unmatched service.”
Creating Jobs and Strengthening Local Communities
The new West Virginia facility underscores Service Wire’s role as a major employer in the region. Upon completion, the expansion will add approximately 60 new jobs, supporting a wide range of roles in manufacturing and operations.
Additionally, the company will continue to invest in workforce development and advanced production technologies to keep pace with growing national and global demand. As a result, Service Wire strengthens not only its manufacturing footprint but also its local economic impact.
A Legacy of U.S.-Made Innovation
All Service Wire Company products are manufactured in the United States and installed in all 50 states and over 30 countries. The company has proudly contributed to landmark projects including New York’s Freedom Tower, the Bayonne Bridge in New Jersey, Chicago’s Wrigley Field, wind and solar farms, and urban light rail systems.
With this latest expansion, Service Wire reinforces its position as a reliable, American-made supplier powering critical infrastructure and renewable energy growth.
