Amphenol Completes Acquisition of Trexon Industrial Products Group
Amphenol Corporation has completed its acquisition of the Industrial Products Group (IPG) from Trexon. The deal includes key brands such as TPC Wire & Cable, Pittsburgh Wire & Cable, and MilRail, all of which now join Amphenol’s expanding Harsh Environment Solutions Division.
Expanding Amphenol’s Industrial Capabilities
This acquisition further strengthens Amphenol’s presence in harsh environment interconnect markets. Luc Walter, President of Amphenol’s Harsh Environment Solutions Division, welcomed the new team, saying, “We’re thrilled to have TPC Wire & Cable as part of the Amphenol family. Their engineered cable and assembly expertise enhances our ability to serve high-tech and industrial markets facing extreme conditions.”
As a result, Amphenol can now deliver more comprehensive connectivity solutions to customers across critical industries such as manufacturing, transportation, and energy infrastructure.
Amphenol TPC Wire & Cable to Operate as Standalone Unit
The newly formed Amphenol TPC Wire & Cable will operate as an independent business unit within the Harsh Environment Division. The company will maintain its headquarters and leadership team to ensure a seamless transition.
Furthermore, the integration of TPC’s engineering strength with Amphenol’s global resources will accelerate the development of advanced cables and interconnect systems. “Together, we’re offering expanded value to our customers with cutting-edge technology and broader solution options,” Walter added.
Strengthening Brand Portfolio and Market Reach
Amphenol also gains the complementary brands Pittsburgh Wire & Cable and MilRail, each contributing to the company’s growing connectivity ecosystem.
- Pittsburgh Wire & Cable, established in 1992, distributes industrial and commercial wire, cable, and accessories.
- MilRail, operating across the U.S. and Canada, focuses on rail, transit, and transportation applications including wire harnesses and assemblies.
These brands will add new industrial depth and distribution reach to Amphenol’s already robust portfolio.
Part of Amphenol’s Strategic Growth Plan
The Amphenol Acquisition of Trexon Industrial Products Group follows a series of recent strategic deals, highlighting the company’s aggressive expansion. Other key additions include:
- Carlisle Interconnect Technologies (CIT), expanding aerospace and defense interconnect solutions.
- PCTEL, a leader in wireless IoT devices and antenna systems.
- Airmar Technology Corporation, known for its ultrasonic sensors and marine systems.
Together, these acquisitions reinforce Amphenol’s focus on innovation, industrial connectivity, and the next generation of connected technologies.
Supporting Innovation and Growth Across Industries
By integrating Trexon’s IPG brands, Amphenol strengthens its industrial connectivity leadership. Meanwhile, customers will benefit from improved product diversity, increased reliability, and faster delivery through Amphenol’s global footprint.
This acquisition underscores Amphenol’s long-term vision: combining market-leading expertise to accelerate technological innovation and better serve industries operating in the world’s most demanding environments.
