NKT A/S, through its Czech subsidiary NKT s.r.o., continues to face scrutiny in the NKT Antimonopoly Office investigation Slovakia, which examines alleged collusion within the regional cable industry. Although the allegations are serious, the company insists on its full compliance with all competition laws.

Details of the NKT Antimonopoly Office Investigation Slovakia

On August 27, NKT confirmed its involvement in the AMO’s formal investigation into suspected collusion in the Slovak cable sector. The AMO’s Request Before the Issuing of a Decision lists potential violations of both Slovak and EU competition regulations. It names NKT s.r.o. alongside 11 other cable producers and a local cable industry association.

While the AMO has proposed possible fines, no final decision has been issued. NKT firmly rejects the allegations and stresses its commitment to fair and transparent market practices. The company plans to submit a detailed defense contesting the claims.

Slovak authorities are expected to issue a final ruling within the next six to twelve months. If the decision upholds the AMO’s findings, NKT intends to explore every available legal option, including appeals through Slovak courts. The company continues to cooperate fully with investigators while maintaining its compliance with all national and EU competition laws.

Separately, NKT s.r.o. remains under review by Czech competition regulators, along with five other cable manufacturers. That case is still pending, and no final conclusions have been drawn.

NKT has reiterated its dedication to ethical operations and legal compliance in all markets, emphasizing transparency, accountability, and fair competition across its European business network.
