The Ducab Group GE Renewable Energy partnership marks a significant milestone in regional power development. The Ducab Group (ducab.com), one of the UAE’s largest industrial manufacturers and energy solution providers, has partnered with GE Renewable Energy’s Grid Solutions (www.gegridsolutions.com) to supply overhead conductors for a 288‑kilometer overhead line (OHL) project in Iraq. This initiative strengthens both companies’ roles in supporting sustainable and reliable energy expansion across the Middle East.

The Ducab Group GE Renewable Energy partnership supports Iraq’s national plan to become a regional energy hub. The project focuses on building a smarter, more sustainable grid infrastructure that connects electricity between Jordan and the Qaim area in Iraq. Ducab is delivering design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning for 400‑kilovolt (kV) transmission lines as part of Grid Solutions’ larger electrification program.

Ducab’s involvement helps bridge the gap between power generation and demand in Iraq. In 2019, analysts noted that peak electricity demand reached 26 gigawatts (GW)—almost 60% higher than the nation’s generation capacity. This new grid project aims to close that gap, ensuring consistent and reliable energy delivery across the country.

“Our products and services directly impact communities, industries, and nations,” said Mohammad A. Almutawa, Chief Revenue Officer at Ducab Group. “By supplying energy solutions for Iraq, we help ensure reliable power while supporting the country’s long‑term socio‑economic goals.”

Through this collaboration, Ducab showcases the strength of the “Make it in the Emirates” brand, affirming its reputation for quality, innovation, and regional leadership. The partnership demonstrates how an Emirati energy manufacturer can play a pivotal role in international infrastructure development while representing UAE manufacturing excellence abroad.
