Danieli Wire Rod Line Expands Acciaierie Venete’s Production in Italy
Acciaierie Venete has chosen Danieli to design and supply a new wire rod production line that will increase capacity at its Sarezzo (Brescia) steel plant. The partnership strengthens the company’s ability to meet growing demand for special steel products in both domestic and international markets.
Increasing Production with Advanced Technology
Fed by the existing Danieli rolling mill, which currently produces straight and coiled quality bars, the new Danieli wire rod line will manufacture special steel smooth rounds ranging from 5.5 to 25 mm in diameter. Operating at speeds up to 110 m/s, the line will expand Acciaierie Venete’s product portfolio while ensuring the highest precision across all sizes.
The new mill is scheduled to begin operation in early 2025, marking another milestone in the company’s modernization strategy.
Precision and Performance Features
Danieli designed the line with three fast-finishing blocks that perform 18 passes to guarantee consistent dimensional accuracy. Its TMB Twin-Module Block ensures a tolerance of ±0.1 mm and 50% ovality control across the entire product range.
The system includes Danieli Automation’s Hi-Profile Lite gauge-measurement technology, which provides real-time quality monitoring during rolling. Additionally, operators can adjust ring settings remotely through a motorized control system, ensuring quick response and improved production precision.
A Danieli-patented high-speed shear will deliver accurate head-and-tail trimming inline, helping maintain production efficiency and reducing waste.
Strengthening Competitiveness and Quality
By integrating this Danieli wire rod line, Acciaierie Venete enhances its manufacturing flexibility and continues its commitment to producing top-quality steel products. The investment supports the company’s long-term goals of improving capacity, consistency, and competitiveness within Europe’s steel industry.
