Essex Furukawa announced that three North American facilities in Fort Wayne, Franklin, and Columbia City, Indiana have completed The Copper Mark Assurance Process, meeting all sustainability and ethical standards.
The comprehensive review evaluated each plant’s environmental performance, worker conditions, equality practices, and community safety. The achievement highlights Essex Furukawa’s commitment to responsible manufacturing and aligns with its Vision 2030 sustainability initiative.
North America President Jared Rowntree praised the milestone, calling it a major step forward for the company and the broader magnet wire industry. Global Corporate Sustainability Manager Austin Robinson also credited the teams’ two-year effort to meet the rigorous Copper Mark standards.
Essex Furukawa began the certification journey in June 2022, becoming the first magnet wire manufacturer to achieve The Copper Mark Assurance Process. The recognition reinforces its position as a sustainability leader in the copper production sector.
