Hellenic Cables, the cables segment of Cenergy Holdings, will supply and install about 38 km of 150 kV submarine and land cables for a new Greek interconnection project in the Ionian Sea as part of the Hellenic Cables Greek interconnection project initiative.
The turnkey contract comes from IPTO (Independent Power Transmission Operator), which operates, monitors, maintains, and develops the Hellenic Electricity Transmission System. The project uses 150 kV XLPE underground and submarine cables to strengthen the electrical links between Kefalonia–Zakynthos and Lefkada–Kefalonia in the Ionian islands.
Hellenic Cables plans to complete the project in 2026. The company will manufacture the submarine cables at its upgraded plant in Corinth, Greece, which now offers higher capacity and can produce continuous lengths suitable for some of the world’s longest submarine cable projects.
The land cables will come from Hellenic Cables’ plant in Thiva, Greece. That facility also benefits from a recent capacity expansion program, which supports efficient production and on-time delivery for large-scale transmission projects in Greece and abroad.
