LS Cable & System has signed a preferred supply agreement with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) to provide offshore and onshore cables for Feng Miao 1, CIP’s third offshore wind project in Taiwan. This collaboration marks another strong step in advancing the region’s renewable energy development.
Under the agreement, LS Cable will supply offshore export cables, inter-array cables, and onshore export cables from its advanced production facilities in South Korea. These cable systems will connect key parts of the 500 MW Feng Miao 1 offshore wind farm, ensuring reliable power transmission to the Taiwan grid.
This represents the fourth collaboration between LS Cable and CIP on offshore wind projects across Asia, following Changfang Xidao and Zhong Neng in Taiwan and Jeonnam Offshore Wind 1 in South Korea. The continued partnership demonstrates both companies’ commitment to expanding clean, sustainable energy infrastructure throughout the region.
CIP secured Feng Miao 1 during Taiwan’s Round 3 Zonal Development Offshore Wind Auction in 2022. The project is now in its late development stage, with teams finalizing design and procurement activities before reaching financial close.
Located about 35 kilometers off the coast of Taichung in central Taiwan, Feng Miao 1 is expected to begin construction in 2025 and enter commercial operation by 2027. CIP continues to expand its regional portfolio, which already includes Taiwan’s 589 MW Changfang and Xidao project and the 298 MW Zhong Neng offshore wind farm.
The Feng Miao 1 project builds on a growing track record of cooperation between LS Cable and CIP. Together, they continue to advance offshore wind technology and support Asia’s energy transition with reliable, high-performance cable solutions.
Through this partnership, both companies aim to reinforce their leadership in the global renewable energy industry and contribute to a more sustainable energy future.
