Prysmian Williamsport Expansion Grain Belt Express Project Overview
Prysmian Group completed a 51,000-sq-ft expansion of its Williamsport, Pennsylvania facility as part of a long-term supply and manufacturing agreement with Invenergy. The project adds 27 permanent jobs and increases U.S. production of advanced power transmission conductors for large renewable projects.
Supporting Grain Belt Express
The $22.5 million expansion directly supports Invenergy’s Grain Belt Express transmission line, one of the largest private-sector-led transmission projects in the U.S. The line will run from Kansas to Indiana, delivering renewable energy to millions and, importantly, strengthening grid reliability across multiple states.
Doubling U.S. conductor capacity
With the larger footprint, Prysmian now doubles its U.S. manufacturing capacity for key advanced transmission conductors, including products that use its E3X® technology. As a result, the Williamsport facility serves as a critical hub in Prysmian’s and Invenergy’s broader investments in U.S. energy infrastructure, local jobs, and domestic supply chains.
Local jobs and regional impact
The expanded plant supports more than 270 local jobs in Williamsport and over 430 positions across Pennsylvania. Furthermore, by growing its U.S. footprint, Prysmian increases domestic content in grid projects and supports long-term careers in advanced manufacturing and transmission technology.

Prysmian North America President and CEO Andrea Pirondini said the company feels proud to supply its most innovative E3X® overhead transmission technology for this transformative project.
