Company Optimizes Operations for Improved Customer Experience
Southwire Company, LLC announced a plan to close three facilities in Santa Fe Springs, Rancho Cucamonga, and Livermore, California, as part of its ongoing business realignment strategy. The company aims to sharpen efficiency, improve customer service, and leverage its broader network of manufacturing and distribution centers across North America.
According to Southwire’s latest press release, operations in Livermore and Santa Fe Springs will end on October 1, 2024, while Rancho Cucamonga will close on November 1, 2024. Operations from these sites will relocate to existing Southwire facilities in other U.S. regions, ensuring service continuity.
Southwire Realigns Facilities to Support Growth
Since 2005, Southwire’s Rancho Cucamonga Customer Service Center (CSC) has served as the West Coast hub for Infrastructure Products, Electrical Products, and Engineered Solutions (EP&ES). The acquisition of Construction Electrical Products (CEP) in 2020 expanded Southwire’s EP&ES division and introduced the Livermore facility. Meanwhile, the Santa Fe Springs site has supported EP&ES since 2019.
“As we continue to improve our customer experience, we must also optimize our manufacturing and distribution networks,” said Aaron Asher, Southwire’s Senior Vice President of Customer Experience. “By using our geographic strengths and established locations, we can more effectively meet customer needs across North America.”

Workforce Adjustments and Support for Impacted Employees
Along with the facility closures, Southwire will reduce some sales and support roles within its EP&ES business unit. The company made these adjustments to align with evolving market conditions and shifting customer needs.
“The decision to close facilities and reduce staff was difficult,” said Peter Lugo, Senior Vice President of EP&ES. “This change does not reflect our employees’ quality or commitment. We deeply value their contributions and will treat everyone affected with respect and care. Impacted employees can apply for open roles within Southwire.”
Southwire’s Ongoing Commitment to Operational Excellence
These operational changes reflect Southwire’s strategy to become more agile and customer-focused. Through modernization efforts, the company continues to invest in its supply chain, product innovation, and sustainability programs.
Southwire remains dedicated to strengthening its service model, achieving operational excellence, and supporting the communities where it operates. For more on the company’s long-term vision, visit the Southwire Sustainability page.
