Expanding Regional Leadership Through Taihan Qatar EHV Cable Projects
Taihan continues to expand in the region with major wins for the Taihan Qatar EHV cable projects valued at $160 million. These contracts build on the company’s long partnership with Kahramaa, Qatar’s General Electricity & Water Corporation. They also reinforce Taihan’s growing role in the Middle East power market.
Major Award for EHV Transmission Expansion
As part of the Taihan Qatar EHV cable projects, Kahramaa awarded Taihan a contract for a 400 kV and 220 kV transmission expansion worth $130 million. Taihan will design, manufacture, lay, joint, and test the cables. The project will enhance Qatar’s highest-voltage transmission system.
Earlier, on August 21, Taihan signed an additional $31 million contract for another 220 kV EHV power network expansion. Both projects will be delivered on a complete turn-key basis, ensuring seamless execution from start to finish.
Supporting Qatar’s Grid Modernization
Qatar’s power grid expansion ranks among the most advanced and challenging projects in the region. It demands strict quality standards and advanced project management. Taihan has contributed to Kahramaa’s grid development since 2008, consistently achieving strong results and positioning itself as a trusted partner in Qatar’s energy transition.
Advancing Future Energy Solutions
A Taihan representative said these back-to-back contracts highlight the company’s competitiveness in the Middle East’s power sector. The wins also align with Taihan’s strategy to expand into high-voltage direct current (HVDC) and submarine cable systems, meeting the rising demand for energy infrastructure across the region.
