The Hellenic Cables South Fork Wind project has achieved a major milestone by successfully delivering power from New York’s first offshore wind turbine. The company, part of Cenergy Holdings, played a key role in the installation—marking a crucial step in developing the first U.S. utility‑scale offshore wind farm in federal waters.

For the South Fork Wind project, Hellenic Cables designed, manufactured, tested, and terminated 30 km of 66 kV XLPE‑insulated subsea inter‑array cables and associated accessories. The cables were produced at the company’s Corinth, Greece facility, which specializes in advanced offshore energy systems.

This achievement demonstrates Hellenic Cables’ dedication to supporting major renewable energy projects and its growing influence in the U.S. offshore wind market.

According to Alexis Alexiou, CEO of Cenergy Holdings, the success reflects teamwork and technical excellence. “This accomplishment shows the dedication and expertise of everyone involved in this pioneering project,” Alexiou said. “We’re proud to work with industry leaders such as Ørsted and Eversource on a project that helps shape the clean energy future of the United States.”

Beyond South Fork Wind, Hellenic Cables continues expanding its presence across the U.S. offshore wind sector. The company has secured contracts to supply inter‑array cables for leading renewable energy projects, including Revolution Wind in Connecticut and Rhode Island, SouthCoast Wind in Massachusetts, and Dominion Energy’s Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind project.

With each installation, Hellenic Cables strengthens its portfolio in North America and reinforces its reputation as a trusted partner in the global transition to sustainable energy.
