Egyptian Group could invest billions in 3 ‘mega’ projects

Kemet Industries Group has signed an MoU with Emirati-Chinese consortium Al Qalaa Red Flag to invest up to $3.5 billion in three mega projects in Egypt’s Ain Sokhna Industrial Zone, including a new fiber optic cable plant to reinforce the country’s digital infrastructure and manufacturing base.

Kinderhook Industries has acquired Advanced Digital Cable (ADC), a Hayesville, North Carolina–based low-voltage wire and cable manufacturer, marking Kinderhook’s eighth wire and cable deal and positioning ADC for accelerated growth with new CEO Kurt Breischaft and three U.S. plants totaling over 500,000 sq ft of manufacturing space.

Prysmian named preferred bidder for the Eastern Green Link 4 HVDC cable project

Prysmian has been named preferred bidder for the Eastern Green Link 4 (EGL4) HVDC cable connection, valued at about €2 billion, to connect Scotland and England via the North Sea. EGL4 will need around 646 km of cable, including approximately 530 km of subsea cable between Kinghorn (Fife) and Anderby Creek or West Norfolk, plus onshore sections at both ends. This major infrastructure will strengthen the UK’s energy grid and support its clean energy transition.

COFICAB upgrades plant in Mexico, buys 2 lines from Finland’s UPCAST Oy

COFICAB Americas has started producing its own copper via a new UPCAST upcasting line at its Durango, Mexico, plant, closing the loop on its supply chain and strengthening autonomy for automotive wire and cable production across the Americas. A second UPCAST line is on order as Durango and Ciudad Juárez continue to serve as key hubs for regional OEM and harness makers.
