New cable manufacturing plant in Central Asia signals supply chain shift

A new Uzbek-Tajik joint venture, Osiyo Kabellari, will produce copper and aluminum wire in Uzbekistan’s Fergana region. Backed by $10 million in private investment, the plant targets 15,000 tons of copper output annually, creates 100 jobs, and strengthens Central Asia’s role in global manufacturing supply chains.
IWG acquires Hussey Copper

International Wire Group Holdings Inc. has acquired Hussey Copper, uniting two established copper manufacturers. The deal strengthens IWG’s North American market presence, adding Hussey’s bus bar, sheet, and plate expertise to IWG’s broad portfolio of bare, plated, and engineered wire products serving infrastructure, automotive, aerospace, and industrial markets.
